30 Gallon Aquarium
Maintaining Fish Tanks
You need to take great care when you are maintaining a 30 gallon fish aquarium otherwise all the fish you have so lovingly bought for your aquarium will face a number of problems including get sick and dying. The reason being that you have allowed too much waste and inorganic material to be buildup in your aquarium that marine life can no longer exist easily inside it. Therefore, it is important that before you go ahead and buy that 30 gallon fish aquarium, you need to have a clear idea on how to maintain it. You need to know that the bigger tanks are the ones that are much easier to maintain than the smaller tanks. However contradicting that statement may be, it is in fact the truth. By providing the correct amount of nutrients to your fish you guarantee them a safe life. You will then find the experience of fish as refreshing and delightful.
The basic reason why you need to clean the tank is that there is because toxins and inorganic material is brought into the tank. Most of the tank owners do not know that well but it is in fact quite true. For example, fish themselves possess a certain level of toxins which they bring to the tank when they start inhabiting it. If these toxins reach high levels then they hamper the ability of the fish to live. Moreover the aeration system can also pump in different chemicals causing toxin levels to be increased rather drastically. Therefore it is important for you to keep a close eye on your tank and maintain it during different lengths of time so that you do not get the unpleasant shock of finding your love in shambles!

Basic Guidelines for keeping your aquariums clean:
It does not matter whether your tank contains fresh water or salt water. The thing is it has to be cleaned no matter what. And that too on a regular basis. The best way to actually do that is to use a gravel vacuum with an attachment to a filtering system. You need to be sure of the fact that there is a recirculation system attached to the system as well.
You need to clean the water in small steps rather than just completely overhauling all of the water. If you do that then you will be harming the fish in a very grave manner. Great care must be taken. Make sure you also clean the waste that has settled at the bottom of the tank. When you are done with this give the thing more time as more waste will start settling at the bottom. When that is done, just use your vacuum to clean up that waste as well.
You should know that when you remove water from your tank you need to replace it as well. It seems a trivial thing to say, perhaps this is the reason it is ignored a number of times by different owners.
It is very important that you have an excellent filtration system. This will undoubtedly be quite expensive but I can assure you it will be worth it. The number of times you will need to clean the tank will be immensely reduced and lesser stress will be placed on the marine life you have.
